How Audiowave Works

Every channel on Audiowave has an owner — but never a permanent one. Ownership works on a 10-day lease. While you own a channel, you can:

• Upload recordings for anyone tuned in to hear
• Set the channel’s name, description, and banner
• Make it truly yours for the length of your lease

Once your 10 days are up, the channel opens to a 24-hour public auction. Anyone — including you — can bid to win the next lease. The highest bid when the clock runs out takes over as the new owner.

• If you win, your bid is split: half goes to the previous owner (a real payout, sent directly to their account), and half supports the platform.
• If you don’t win, you don’t lose your bid — it comes back to you as Audiowave credit, which you can use on any future bid, on any channel. Credit is good for 30 days.

Think of a losing bid less like spending money and more like moving it to a different channel’s auction.

Before your lease ends, we’ll ask you to upload a short recording to play during the 24-hour auction window — so listeners always hear something, even while ownership is changing hands. If you don’t get around to it, we’ll just keep playing your most recent upload.

Audiowave has a limited number of channels — never more than 50 at a time. If there’s room, anyone can start a brand-new channel for a one-time $5 claim fee, giving you an instant 10-day lease to build something from scratch.

When you win an auction and later lose the channel to someone else, your share of their winning bid is paid out directly to you — you’ll just need to complete a quick, one-time verification step (handled securely by our payment partner) so we know where to send it.

We review uploaded content and reserve the right to remove anything that violates our guidelines, to keep Audiowave a place worth listening to.
